DoHzel mobile app#
Introduction#
DoHzel mobile app is a lightweight application aimed at bringing Hafnova's powerful cybersecurity features up to mobile phones and tablets.
Since traditional antivirus are mostly useless on smartphones (because of their architecture), DoHzel is actually probably the best security solution these days.
If you share your smartphone's connection with other devices, all devices behind your smartphones will be protected by DoHzel.
Device types#
For DoHzel, devices can be of two different types: * Managed devices are mostly used in organizations where administrators need to manage fleets of devices, or distinct populations of users, and apply consisten security policies across fleets or populations. In this mode, users cannot change their security policies, which are controlled by administrators through the use of profiles. * Freedom devices are intended to users who want more security plus the ability to manage individually their protection settings. Freedom devices embed their own independent security policies, which are not and these settings are not managed by the profile settings. Freedom devices also do not share their allowlist or their blocklist with their profile. Furthermore, Freedom devices can also be integrated in a profile (even with managed devices along), in order to collect usage logs for a consolidation at profile level.
Profiles#
Profiles are used to manage groups of devices with common security policies. This is especially important for large populations of users, or fleets of devices, with the same security needs.
E.g. an administrator would like to manage a whole fleet of smartphones or tablets used by mobile workforces with the same security policies, or to manage several corporate sites each with a DoHzel proxy instance, with an homogeneous security level all the time.
Administrators shall previously identify populations of users and their security needs to properly define profiles and manage DoHzel clients in an efficient way.
Profiles are used to enforce security on “managed” devices (see also "Device management").
In the following screenshots, the profile used to manage devices is called “Home” and is dis-played on the green banner aside the DoHzel wolf.
